Sept 11, 2001------

Sitting on a school bus listening to the news on a crude radio station, the men talking about attacks in New York city, I thought it was some sick joke...disgusted that they would even be thinking about such things...and then listening more...I turned to a friend and said "They aren't laughing though, I think... I think... this is really happening..."

We arrived at my school and were quickly ushered in by a school staffer---not a usual thing, I knew then it was indeed "real." We sat in the school cafeteria and the news was turned on, at that moment we saw the first WTC tower fall.....horrified, in shock, the school bell rings to change classes and no-body moves. Many of my peers and I were just crying, praying, hugging, angry...upset, and absolutely not sure of what was going on...

I was a senior in high school and I had no idea at that moment how that day would altar the world that I would start my adult life in....

I will say only this now I have never forgotten...  and I still cry when I see videos of that day, I cried then, I cry now...
