Well, tomorrow is my next weigh in day. This week seems to have just flown by and yet I am not ready to step on the scale tomorrow.
This has been a really difficult week for me food wise. I seemed to let myself have less control and honestly I think I became to self confidant in this endeavor and often found myself saying "I can eat this, I'll work it off tomorrow." When tomorrow's exercise routine came it was light and not the usual hard work out. There comes a point when I think one can grow too confidant in our own abilities to fight off temptation we think we can handle it and so we indulge just to find, what I already think is true, ourselves indulging more.
I am praying that I have at least just stayed at the same weight. I am not expecting any weight loss and if I receive it I will praise God with all my heart for being merciful on my body. If I don't receive it I will still praise God with all my heart for my husband that everyday this week has gently, and lovingly, helped me to stay the closest on task as I possibly could. I will also praise God that I still exercised every day this week too even though it wasn't as intense as I would have originally liked. There is still a lot to be thankful. This journey isn't just about the number on the scale and I have to keep reminding myself of this truth.
Well, here are some things not weight related going on in our home this week. Monday we had a Zoo trip with an old friend of mine, we had a lot of fun playing with the babies in the water park area of the zoo and just catching up on life. Ellie is grown into a little water lover :)
Tuesday we had a walk and laundry day at our friend's, Miss Heather. I am so thankful for such a great friend that encourages me on this journey every week by walking with me. I am also very grateful for a place to be able to do laundry that doesn't cost us 3.00 a load. We have been very blessed to be able to do our laundry for free and blessed with the fellowship we have every week because of laundry day as well :)
Wednesday we had a baby shower for a friend from church :) She is almost 9months pregnant now with her third boy :) This day was also the big tornado day down in the Kentuckiana (kentucky indiana) area. Carl was supposed to get off of work at 8pm and the storms were too severe at his workplace for me to be able to come and pick him up. Finally at about 9:30 I braved the weather and was driving down the highway to get him from work (the kiddo's were safe at a friends house.) I was literally 1 of a total of 3 cars on the road everyone else was taking shelter as the tornado sirens were still going off. I prayed the entire ride for the Lord's protection, mercy, and grace. God kept us safe! We finally were home and had the kids in bed by 10:30. Oh and the sirens were still going off! I think they were on from about 7:30-11:30 in the area. Crazy Weather!
Thursday was Carl's day off and he went and got a much needed haircut. I was really grumpy for some reason but all worked out :) Zachary had to go get more blood work done so that wasn't too fun for him but then Carl and I got to have a date thanks to our friends Jason and Angela who watched the kiddos' for us. The littlest dates can often be the most fun. Carl and I went to Sam's Club and ate dinner their :) Not the greatest food (health wise) but a lot of fun still. And then we walked around the store and Carl insisted on putting things in our cart that we weren't going to buy and we just left our cart and walked out of the store with nothing. Then we enjoyed splitting a home made shake from Steak N Shake, and then we went to a shoe store and bought me some real running/walking shoes. They were $30 I told my husband that this was the most expensive pair of shoes I have ever owned in my life. But after our cheap 12 Wal-Mart shoes fell apart after only 2weeks of wearing them and working out in them we knew if I was going to keep up the exercise I needed a good quality pair of shoes to support me :)
Then Today is Friday :) So far we gave Zach his first enema treatment (no fun for him but he sure felt better after all the pooping was done ) and then we took Carl to work. Did some grocery shopping and I'm going to work out to the Biggest Loser Power Walk DVD and then when the kids get up from their nap I think we are going to go to the Park and play for a little bit :) It's a beautiful day :)
