Cystic Fibrosis

The doctor told Carl that one of his bronchial tubes is larger than the other and not necessarily associated with pnuemonia or bronichitus. He said that it is often a sign of Cystic Fibrosis. He said that given Carl's family history he shouldn't have too much to worry about but to be on the safe side it would be good to get a more formal and detailed chest xray done. So he has a scan scheduled for monday morning at 11.

I'm trying real hard not to be worried...but I am. I know that this is a serious disease and if he does have it he it is probably something that he has had since childhood and went undiagnosed.

I am determined however not to let this consume me with fear because I know that my God will keep the promise that he made to me a long time ago. Which is to never leave and to always love and take care of me.

But I do so deeply covet your prayers.

I will be praying Sarah. That is so strange. From my understanding of CF (which is minimal) I think it would be a very hard disease to go undiagnosed for so long.

yes i would think so too. Since it is mostly a diesease that gets diagnosed in early childhood...

who knows? Anything is possible...and is probablly the other reason why the doctor wasn't too worried but needed to be safe and run more tests
