Rise and Shine

Usually i try to sleep in because i don't get much sleep at night anymore. Mostly due to severe heart burn, frequent urination and a ton of leg cramps....lol. Being pregnant is so glorious isn't it?

Actually taking a few birthing classes has helped a lot because there's a lot about women men just don't know and it's amazing to see all the dad's in the classes awe and google over their wives a little bit more in respect and admiration for what their bodies are doing at the moment.

We had another doctor's appointment the last in the series of going only once a month...and now the going every 2 weeks begins. We also got another ultra-sound done to take a better look at the Kidney's and they looked healthy and functioning and their were 2 of them this time...the last time the tech could only get one to show up in the picture...how that happens i'm not sure.

This ultra sound was a little more exciting for us than the first time. I think the first time around we were just taking in so much like being used to the idea of having a baby, getting ready to move ect...that we were super laid back about it all so much so the Tech was begining to think we really weren't excited about it.

But this time we kept asking a lot of questions and the picture was a lot more clear. She was lying on her belly though which made the ultrasound a little more painful for me because the tech had to push on some weird angles of my belly to get some pictures. But we got to see her little face very clearly (well as clearly as ultrasounds are.) And she had one of her hands up by her face, and she had all her fingers and a thumb on it so that's good. She also had her little feet tucked up under her bum which explained why i felt like something was kicking my lungs earlier in the afternoon. It was just all so very precious.

It also looks like it was a good thing that they had moved my due date up because they would have done so this week if they hadn't before. My original due date was the 12th of March but this current ultrasound predicted as early as Feb28...so the doc and tech both said it could be late february to early march...We are so not ready!!!! But God is good and we are trusting.

Please pray that the Lord will provide for us to be able to get some more cloth diapers ect...right now we have about a dozen which is good for about a day with newborns. And yeah we could wash the diapers everyday but then we would be paying more in water ect. But We really want to save the money in the long run, which cloth diapers do...but they can be a big cost up front and we just can't afford to take it out of our savings not with Carl not having a job and us needing to plan ahead to make other livelyhood payments. So that is a big prayer requests.

We're excited though, looking forward to having a baby even when you don't have money is actually a huge blessing. It keeps our spirits up and reminds us of how much we really have. Not to mention we have a great LandLord whom for some reason isn't making us pay for sewage and water at the moment..I guess he figures we don't use that much of it so it's really no sweat off his back...We're thankful for it a lot.

So we have no job and no income and our savings may be dwindling but we feel extremely blessed and graced in HIS mercy...because hey it's not that bad at least we have a savings that can be dwindled right?

So spend 24 bucks, buy 2 dozen diapers and have the freedom to quit worrying about having enough diapers!

Couple suggestions...take alfalfa supplements (very cheap at vitacost.com) to help relieve the leg cramps--alfalfa is a great source of magnesium...something we need but don't get in our diets. I still take alfalfa, and I think it has made my milk really good. I would suggest you take 2 per meal.

Also, I bought 24 cloth diapers (are you using prefolds?), and I definitely didn't need more than 12. I DO wash them every day, but honestly, it still saves money and you really don't want dirty diapers sitting around longer than that...the bigger your baby gets, the more they will smell. You can always save and just buy a few at a time as you are able. (I'm actually only using 7, I wash 6 while he's wearing the 7th). (the rest have become burp rags!)

You will want to have a package of newborn diapers for the first week anyway, because-trust me-you'll be sore and tired and won't want to be doing laundry every day.

Hey I've been thinking about the leg cramp thing, and they told me to eat lot's of Bananas because of the potassium. If you don't have enough the legs cramp. and..Just to ask..but are you on prenatal vitamins? They helped a LOT. I always felt better and took them for months and months after too as I breastfed.

Donna
could you send me your home address? I found some stuff, breast feeding books, a hand pump etc.

oh that's awesome...I'll totally send you my address over a message on Facebook okay. Thank you so much!!!

The doctor just prescribed me some prenatal vitamins that don't make me throw up so i'm taking them regularly now. Expensive vitamins though...lol but at least i'm not throwing them up anymore. Not that i wasn't taking them before it just wasn't super consitant because of all the nausea and vomiting that would come afterwards.
