What is with Christians being caught up on the depravity issue? Yes we are depraved human beings but once we get saved Christ no-longer makes us these ugly creatures, we are considered beautiful jewels and so often I read about Christians who still see themselves as hopelessly depraved and ugly.
All i know is that i don't want to sit around and be depressed about all the terrible things i've done in life..i can't change any of them and i certainly can't make it all go away. The hope that Christ gives me though is i don't have to walk through life full of guilt and shame I am free from those things. WE are all free from guilt and shame! Why do we bask in it as if we were never given freedom in the first place.
Now i'm not saying we should feel good about the bad things we do as christians but there is an elimate where we fess up, buck up, take the consequences and move on with our lives...so why don't we? Why is it that the very grace that we pride ourselves in offering to others is the same grace that we deny ourselves. Something needs to change in the way we perceive and receive grace.

Right on! It's odd, but isn't it sort of prideful to make a bigger deal out of our own sin than out of God's grace? Hope things are going well in Ark'n'saw.
You'll be a hillbilly before you know it! I'll be waiting for words to show up on your blog, such as: ya'll, 'possum, 'coon, warsh, if'n, etc. :)
I'll never be a conformist...YOU Got that Ya'll...
