Rain

Today, is one of those days where i just "sigh." I haven't done much today i did however get to spend some time with my friend Angela, who i learned to play rummie with, I also typed a paper and looked into doing some online banking stuff...which i think would help me in balancing my budget and keeping track of my money.

I reflected on a lot of things this afternoon. Like Elizabeths blog about the women in the bible, how often i forget God's unique ablity to use women to glorify him, and how i hope he will use me to do the same. I reflected on Vanessa's blog about prayer, and anxiety and how it seems like every big thing comes at once and there seem to be no clear direction on which way to go at the intersection. I reflected on Theistic Evolution and how i really don't want to be one but have tendencies to go in that direction due to background and presupusitons that i am currently trying to get in line with scripture. I reflected on smoking (believe it or not.) No, i don't smoke but i have several Christian friends who do. I reflected on the weather and how this week everyday has started off cold and rainy and ended with sunshine and some warmth. Now i leave my thoughts with that last one...

Sometimes things in life start off Cold and Rainy and we are left wandering will the sunshine ever come again, and then it does, it does eventually come...but sometimes it doesn't come until the end of the day...and that seems to make the sunshine more beautiful, more warm and more special.

Using that illustration i reflect on my life and how often i have had many cold and rainy days, but then the sunshine finally comes, and i value it more than i would have before without the rain. I value my savior more now than i think i would have without the rain. I value people more, i value love more, i value truth more, and i even value some of the material things i have more all because i've been through a 'little' rain.

Rain can put a damper on our temperary plans but it brings forth life where there wasn't any before (like a creek on a dry farm)

"Rain! Lord we thirst for Water
Rain! We are a desert Land
Rain! On your sons and daughters
Rain! Bring your Rain again!
