What is Beauty? What is Sexy?

I had a great conversation with a wonderful friend and mentor of mine this afternoon and we discussed this topic. The reason that it came up is because since i have been working out and studing scripture more my opionion of who i am and what beauty and sexy are have changed, for the good of course.

Vanessa, and i talked about society and how unfortunate as it is, we christians take our views of beauty and sex from the image that society tells us and not from the image that God lays out for us in his word.

It all started because i looked at myself in the mirror and not in a proud or boastful way i thought to myself "I really am a beautiful creature. Why is it that what i see in this mirror right now is not what others see? Why is it that it is not what other Christian's see?"

As you all know my mind has been drastically revamped through out this year and so i thought about why is it that it has taken me 8 years to see the beauty of Christ in me. I guess it all goes back to the book of Romans and the constant reknewing of our minds that we are all supposed to be actively participating in and yet we don't or it takes a ditch, car problems, and loved ones leaving before we begin to grab hold of the scriptures.

Now, i'm not bashing myself and i'm not trying to bash christians out there on the blogging world but if any men read this How would your view of women and sexuality change if you began to take a biblical perspective. Women, how would our view of men and sexuality change if we did the same... How would society's view of sexuality change?

I don't expect society to change because well the world is under a differant ruler right now but maybe just maybe we as christians would begin to change and value ourselves if we began to once again give God his rightful place for the "reknewing of our minds" and not society.
