Knowing?

When is it safe to say that you really "know" someone or that someone really "knows" you? And no i'm not talking about a sexual usage of the word 'know'.

Knowing someone happens over time and in lots of ways....you have to see a person when they are stressed out, sick, elated, silly, and worshiping. You have to observe them over time. You have to see them in different venues....like home, school, work, etc. You have to see how they react to loss, financial pressure, blessings, criticism. The more you are able to obvserve someone, the better you know them. The more you spend time together, the more you can predict what makes them tick and how they perceive the world. That's why English is such a poor language in many ways..there is no word that expresses any level of depth...thats also why the biblical "epignosis" is such a powerful word. It expresses the extreme of how you can know a person.
